When pop dominated the whole world, a group of ¨bad boys¨ appeared, Guns N’ Roses brought some ugly rock back into the billboards. They were not good boys, they were at Santa´s black list: nice boys don’t play rock & roll. They were violent; they were also funny, vulnerable, and occasionally sensitive, as their amazing hit, «Sweet Child O’ Mine,» showed.
The name is formed by taking the Axl´s Rose (William Bill Bailey) last name and also the last name of Tracci Gun´s band and if you mix them you have Guns ´n Roses
It was formally a band in March of 1985 so it is not as old as Queen
Their first presentation was on March 26,1985
Now you know a few facts about the band I can start to tell you about them (I´m really sorry if I sound such as a fan girl ☺)
The original band was formed by Tracci Guns (guitar, leader), Axl Rose (voice), Izzy Stradlin ( rhythmic guitar), Duff Mckang (bass) and Rob Gardner (drums) . If you want a description of their music I think is like punk and rock mixed, and it is quite amazing.
When they were still a band, a lot of people protested to censor them because of their song letters; they were ugly, misogynist and really bad.
Live…like a suicide is their first album, with that one they got the opening hours of Iron Maiden but Axl Rose got into serious drug problem so they could not finish the tour.
Live…like a suicide it did not got the success they were waiting for but then they found the limelight with their first (actually second, but people likes thinking that is the first) album is named Appetite for destruction, it was released on July 21, 1987 it became famous for singles like ¨Paradise City¨, ¨Welcome to the jungle¨ and ¨Sweet Child o´ mine¨. Appetite for destruction is the BEST SELLING DEBUT ALBUM OF ALL TIME, so if you have not listened them yet, you have to do it. Something you do have to know is that on July 1988 they released the single Sweet Child O’Mine, which was first Grammy award they won, the Grammy award for the best rock song of the year.
They interrupted their American tour to play in the legendary festival of Donnington Monsters of Rock (Great Britain).
They took a lot of breaks during their career so Izzy decided to separate and create his own group named The Ju Ju Hounds, their last album as Guns n´Roses is named The Spaghetti Incident? At 1993 it was delayed because of one of the songs (Look at your own way) is written by Charles Manson. It is a kind of tribute to bands like Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.
No one was waiting that they released a new album, and now in 2019 we got the new that they will have another album!!! What do you think about it?
